Nuraghe Arrubiu stands on the Pranemuru plateau, in the Sarcidano, an area inhabited since prehistoric times. Complex nuraghi, towers, villages, giants' tombs and places of worship testify to a densely inhabited region crossed by a dense network of economic, cultural and religious exchanges.

THE SARCIDANO TERRITORY
SANTA VITTORIA DI SERRI
The Nuragic sanctuary of Santa Vittoria is the main cult and ceremonial place of the Sarcidano, in central-southern Sardinia. It stands on the plateau, called Giara in Sardinia, of Serri, inhabited since prehistory. From a position dominating much of the Sarcidano, the sanctuary is directly connected with numerous nuraghi, villages and burial areas. It includes several groups of buildings, among them the well temple, a peculiar circular structure known for the precise shaping of its stone blocks.
PRANU MUTTEDU – GONI
The Pranu Muttedu archaeological area stands on a wide plateau overlooking the valleys in the heart of the Gerrei. The necropolis is one of the most important funerary complexes of Sardinian prehistory: megalithic tombs, circular structures for funerary cults and fifty menhirs, the largest group of megalithic blocks found in Sardinia, arranged in different patterns with proto-anthropomorphic shapes. Among them stands out Tomb II.
